Build strength and control to prepare your post-natal body for running or impact training. This class is designed for women who feel ready to move on from early post-natal exercise.

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

A physio led 6- week course designed to prepare your post- natal body

for impact such as running, jumping and HIIT training.

We will work on building your strength and control with functional

movement patterns such as bending, extending, pushing, pulling and rotating using body weight, dumbbells, kettlebells and resistance bands.

Moving on from early post- natal exercise, this class aims to offer a higher intensity and level of difficulty with combined movements, rotation and additional weight to challenge your core strength. 

This class is for you if you have a good understanding of pelvic floor exercises, have already started early post-natal exercise, and feel ready to be challenged and build on your progress so far!

The class will be 45 mins which includes a short warm up and a few minutes of stretching at the end. Otherwise the goal is to move through our exercises in a HIIT style class where we will gradually increase the 'work time' and intensity over the weeks.

Why is strength training important post-natally?

Pregnancy and childbirth can influence your posture, strength and the way your trunk and pelvis move. These changes mean that mums need to re- balance their centre in preparation for impact.

Returning to running and impact can be different for all women and is dependent on body- readiness rather than time.

Factors to consider:

* Pelvic floor strength

* Balance

* Single leg control and strength

* Core stability and diastasis

* Sleep and nutrition

 

The 'Strength for Impact' training program is designed to challenge your core strength, balance, single leg strength and  build your confidence to return to doing all the things you want to be!

You will be alongside a maximum of 6 other women, there will be a space available for babies to have a wriggle and a play and hopefully we will have a laugh along the way!
